Recruiting - The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports new roles at the National Centre for Music
23 January 2026
Following confirmation of significant support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, RHSPT and our colleagues at the National Centre for Music are moving into an exciting new phase of this project - the delivery of an Activity Plan to support wide community engagement with the redevelopment of the spectacular old Royal High School.
This significant piece of work aims to engage diverse communities with the story of our project and the rich architectural, cultural and natural heritage that make this location and project special.
The National Centre for Music is leading this Activity Plan, as they connect with communities in advance of their opening, and build connections, partnerships and audiences of the future. They are now looking to appoint the first posts associated with this Heritage Fund support and plan, and are seeking a Community Engagement Officer, a Research Consultant and a Hidden Histories Research Consultant.
These positions will help to uncover and bring to life this iconic piece of Scotland's heritage, the people who shaped its past and were shaped by it, and the wider implications of its origins, closure and reawakening. The plan is designed to ensure the building, redevelopment and the National Centre for Music's future programme are inspiring, accessible and inclusive in their offer. We all want to ensure community needs are embedded from the outset, and that people from all walks of life can learn, engage with and feel connected to the old Royal High School's past and future.
More information can be found in the Recruitment Packs - which can be downloaded from this page.
