Music Sector Consultation Roadshow

3 December 2024
Music Sector Consultation Roadshow

Throughout January, we are hosting a series of in-person and online events, asking people from across Scotland’s musical ecosystem what they think a new National Centre for Music could mean for them, their artists and audiences.

EVENT DETAILS

We want to connect with people from across the country and from a broad range of perspectives – including professional performing organisations, venues, festivals, community organisations, youth music and music education, as well as practicing freelance musicians.

We’re hosting four in-person events and one online event, as follows:

In-person Events

Thursday 16 January 2025
Festival Theatre, Edinburgh
Co-hosted by Creative Edinburgh
14.15 - 16.45

Monday 20 January 2025
Eden Court, Inverness
14.30 – 17.00

Tuesday 21 January 2025
Civic House, Glasgow
14.30 – 17.00

Wednesday 22 January 2025
Pitlochry Festival Theatre
14.30 – 17.00

Online Event

Tuesday 14 January 2025
09.30 - 11.00

At all sessions, our Creative Director, Jenny Jamison, will outline the plans for the building, the resources it might offer, programming intentions, partnership opportunities, and the role we hope to play in the future. We are looking forward to gathering feedback – both supportive and critical. The challenges, ideas and new perspectives that come out of these sessions will all inform our planning.

Spaces at in-person events will be limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you work in the music sector, to secure your place please email info@rhspt.org, indicating which event you would like to attend.

Booking will be open until 2pm the day before each event, unless events sell out.

Please spread the word!

FREELANCE PERFORMERS

We are very keen to hear from freelance performers across all genres as to what they would like to see from a venue and centre like this one.

We have funding to offer the first 30 freelance individuals signing up to the in-person events a one-off payment of £100 in recognition of time given. Please indicate you are a freelancer when you sign-up and we will confirm by return if you are within the first 30 sign-ups. Payment will be made upon receipt of an invoice and details of how this will be facilitated will be provided prior to the event.
